Avident Health Files Patent for AI-Driven, Literacy-Adaptive Patient Education System
Avident Health has filed a U.S. patent application for its proprietary artificial intelligence engine that powers the literacy-adaptive education core of the MyNavigator Platform. The technology represents a first-of-its-kind innovation in oncology digital health — dynamically tailoring cancer education content to each individual patient's health literacy level in real time.
Health literacy is a frequently overlooked driver of treatment nonadherence. Research indicates that nearly 9 in 10 adults struggle with health literacy to some degree, and cancer patients on complex oral regimens face significant barriers to understanding their treatment plans, managing side effects, and maintaining adherence schedules.
Avident Health's patented system addresses this through a multimodal content delivery engine that assesses each user's literacy profile and adapts educational materials — including text, visual, and audio formats — to maximize comprehension and engagement. The system integrates seamlessly with clinical workflows, enabling care teams to track patient education progress alongside symptom monitoring.
"Patients can't adhere to a treatment they don't understand," said Dr. Maen Farha, Founder and CEO of Avident Health LLC. "Our AI engine meets patients where they are — in the language, format, and complexity level that works for them. This patent protects a critical innovation that we believe will change how oncology education is delivered."
The patent filing covers the core algorithmic framework, content classification methodology, and adaptive delivery mechanisms underlying the MNP education module. Avident Health plans to license the technology to health systems and pharmaceutical partners as part of its broader commercialization strategy.
