Pilot Study Results: MyNavigator Platform Shows Meaningful Adherence Improvements in Oral Oncology

Results from a 25-patient pilot study evaluating the MyNavigator Platform (MNP) were presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, demonstrating promising improvements in oral oncology adherence and patient-reported outcomes among a diverse patient population.

The pilot, conducted across two clinical sites, enrolled patients with breast and colorectal cancers receiving oral targeted therapies. Participants and their designated Informal Cancer Caregivers (ICCs) used the MNP application for real-time symptom tracking, medication reminders, and AI-adapted educational content throughout their treatment cycles.

Key findings from the study include high platform engagement rates among both patients and caregivers, improved self-reported confidence in managing treatment side effects, and clinician feedback indicating MNP-generated alerts enabled earlier intervention for emerging symptoms. The results build on the known adherence crisis in oral oncology, where nonadherence within six months reaches nearly 48% in standard care settings.

"These pilot results are incredibly encouraging," said lead investigator and Avident Health co-founder Dr. Biplov Bhandari. "We're seeing what the data have long predicted — when patients and caregivers are actively supported with the right information at the right time, treatment adherence improves. The next step is a larger, fully powered clinical trial."
